Admission review definition

Admission review means the evaluation of an individual's need for institutional care, goods, or services in accordance with established medical care and related criteria, including a determination of whether community based care is a viable alternative to institutionalization.
Admission review to determine whether an unscheduled inpatient admission, or admission not subject to Pre-Admission Review, is Medically Necessary.
