Actual Holiday definition

Actual Holiday means the day of the month that a holiday falls on. This is not necessarily the day that the County officially recognizes the holiday.
Actual Holiday means the day(s) for which employees shall receive “premium” pay.

Examples of Actual Holiday in a sentence

  • If any of the above holidays fall on a Saturday or Sunday (Observed Holiday in effect) and on a regular workday for the employee, the Actual Holiday will be treated as a holiday worked.

  • If the employee works both the Observed Holiday and the Actual Holiday they are only entitled to treat one of those days as a Holiday Worked.

  • Category #2: Employees Who Are Required To Work on the Actual Holiday Nonexempt employees working in facilities whose positions require staff coverage to ensure provision of direct client or customer services are paid at time and one-half when they are required to work the actual holiday listed below.

  • If a General Unit employee works both the Actual Holiday and the Recognized Holiday, the General Unit employee shall receive premium pay or compensatory time for the Actual Holiday only, and shall receive regular pay for the Recognized Holiday.

  • Those employees who work on a Recognized (Actual) Holiday shall receive two (2) times their straight time hourly rate for each hour worked.

Related to Actual Holiday

  • Legal Holiday means a Saturday, a Sunday or a day on which banking institutions in the City of New York or at a place of payment are authorized by law, regulation or executive order to remain closed. If a payment date is a Legal Holiday at a place of payment, payment may be made at that place on the next succeeding day that is not a Legal Holiday, and no interest shall accrue on such payment for the intervening period.

  • Statutory Holiday means New Year’s Day, Family Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday, Labour Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day; and

  • Bank Holiday means any day that is specified or proclaimed as a bank holiday, pursuant to section 1 of the Banking and Financial Dealings Act 1971;

  • Legal Holidays has the meaning specified in Section 1.14.

  • public holiday means any day that is a public holiday in terms of the Public Holiday Act, 1994 (Act No. 36 of 1994);

  • Holiday means the twenty-four (24) hour period commencing at 0001 hours of a day designated as a paid holiday in this Agreement.

  • Weekday means Monday – Friday.

  • Unscheduled Holiday means a day that is not a Settlement Business Day and the market was not aware of such fact (by means of a public announcement or by reference to other publicly available information) until a time later than 9:00 a.m. local time in the principal financial centre of the Specified Currency two Settlement Business Days prior to the relevant Rate Fixing Date. As soon as the Calculation Agent is aware of such an Unscheduled Holiday, they shall inform the Issuer promptly.

  • Public Holidays means those days declared as public holidays in accordance with the Holidays Act 1983.

  • Day means calendar day.

  • Weekend means a Saturday and the following Sunday, assuring a minimum of fifty-six (56) hours off duty;

  • non-business day means Saturday, Sunday and any other day that is a holiday as defined in the Interpretation Act (Canada);

  • Index Business Day means, in respect of an Index, any day on which the Index Sponsor in respect of such Index is scheduled to publish the level of the Index.

  • Federal Fiscal Year means the period beginning October 1 and ending September 30 each year, which is the annual accounting period for the United States government.

  • Afternoon shift means any shift finishing after 6.00pm and at or before midnight.

  • Business Day means any day except any Saturday, any Sunday, any day which is a federal legal holiday in the United States or any day on which banking institutions in the State of New York are authorized or required by law or other governmental action to close.

  • Banking Day means each day (other than a Saturday or Sunday) on which the Clearing System and the Trans-European Automated Real-time Gross settlement Express Transfer-System (TARGET2) ("TARGET2") are open for business.

  • FX Business Day is any day when (a) Bank’s Foreign Exchange Department is conducting its normal business and (b) the Foreign Currency being purchased or sold by Borrower is available to Bank from the entity from which Bank shall buy or sell such Foreign Currency.

  • Determination Business Day means a day (other than a Saturday or Sunday) on which commercial banks are open for general business (including dealings in foreign exchange) in Hong Kong, London and New York City;
