Act of the Oireachtas definition

Act of the Oireachtas means any act of Parliament or Act of the Oireachtas or Law of the European Community now in force in the State or any other Act or law passed having force in the State including any instrument, directive, regulation or bye-law made under them.

  • To obtain any Ministerial order or licence or any provisional order or Act of the Oireachtas or Charter for enabling the Company to carry any of its objects into effect, or for effecting any modification of the Company’s constitution, or for any other purpose which may seem expedient, and to oppose any proceedings or applications which may seem calculated directly or indirectly to prejudice the Company’s interests.

  • To apply for, promote and obtain any Act of the Oireachtas, provisional order or licence of the appropriate Minister, or other authority for enabling the Company to carry any of its objects into effect, or for effecting any modification of the Company’s constitution, or for any other purpose which may seem expedient, and to oppose any proceedings or applications which may seem calculated, directly or indirectly, to prejudice the Company’s interests.

  • To apply for, promote and obtain any Act of the Oireachtas, provisional order or licence of the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation or other authority for enabling the Company to carry any of its objects into effect, or for effecting any modification of the Company’s constitution, or for any other purpose which may seem expedient, and to oppose any proceedings or applications which may seem calculated, directly or indirectly, to prejudice the Company’s interests.

  • In this Scheme the words and expressions set out below shall have the meanings specified against them unless otherwise specifically provided and any reference to a provision of an Act of the Oireachtas shall include any modification re-enactment or extension of it.

  • Act of Terrorism means:an act, including but not limited to the use of force or violence and/or the threat of any person or group of persons, whether acting alone or on behalf of or in connection with any organisation or government which from its nature or context is done for, or in connection with political, religious, ideological, ethnic or similar purposes including the intention to influence any government and/or to put the public, or any section of the public in fear.

  • Occupational Safety and Health Law means any Law designed to provide safe and healthful working conditions and to reduce occupational safety and health hazards, and any program, whether governmental or private (including those promulgated or sponsored by industry associations and insurance companies), designed to provide safe and healthful working conditions.

  • Outbreak means an isolated pest population, recently detected and expected to survive for the immediate future;

  • General Anti-Abuse Rule means (a) the legislation in Part 5 of the Finance Xxx 0000; and (b) any future legislation introduced into parliament to counteract tax advantages arising from abusive arrangements to avoid national insurance contributions;

  • toxic substances as defined by the Toxic Substances Control Act, as amended from time to time (“TSCA”), (4) “hazardous materials” as defined by the Hazardous Materials Transportation Act, as amended from time to time (“HMTA”), (5) asbestos, oil or other petroleum products, radioactive materials, urea formaldehyde foam insulation, radon gas and transformers or other equipment that contains dielectric fluid containing polychlorinated biphenyls and (6) any substance whose presence is detrimental or hazardous to health or the environment, including, without limitation, microbial or fungal matter or mold, or is otherwise regulated by federal, state and local environmental laws (including, without limitation, RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA, HMTA), rules, regulations and orders, regulating, relating to or imposing liability or standards of conduct concerning any Hazardous Materials or environmental, health or safety compliance (collectively, “Environmental Requirements”). As used in this Contract: “Release” means spilling, leaking, pumping, pouring, emitting, emptying, discharging, injecting, escaping, leaching, dumping or disposing.

  • Sabotage means deliberate damage, with malevolent intent, to a Category 1 or Category 2 quantity of radioactive material, a device that contains a Category 1 or Category 2 quantity of radioactive material, or the components of the security system.

  • CISADA means the Comprehensive Iran Sanctions, Accountability and Divestment Act.

  • Toxic Substance includes but is not limited to asbestos, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and lead-based paints.

  • Toxic chemical means a chemical or chemical category listed in 40 CFR 372.65.
