Account Updater Service. A functionality as further defined in section 7.3. Acquiring Institution: means a financial institution or bank that provides services to you and PayPal to enable you to (a) accept payment by cardholders using cards: and (b) receive value in respect of Card Transactions. Activation Date: The date on which you complete all of the steps for “Getting started” as listed in section 1 above. Advanced Credit and Debit Card Payments: A Product as further defined in the About your Agreement section.
Account Updater Service means a functionality as further defined in section 7.3.
Account Updater Service means the Service in which PayPal may update applicable customer Card Data of eligible Cards using information and third-party sources available to PayPal, as further described in Section 11. In providing this Service, PayPal may obtain, on Merchant’s behalf, applicable updated customer Card Data of eligible Cards from participating card issuing banks and other third-party sources for use in the processing of Merchant’s Recurring Billing, Recurring Payments, or other eligible transactions using the Services.

  • You may elect to discontinue use of the Account Updater Service at any time by providing written notice to PayPal of such election or by such other means as may be designated by PayPal.

  • You shall not use the Account Updater Service for any other purpose, including, without limitation, the use of any portion of the Account Updater Service data in connection with the development of any other service or product.

  • You shall indemnify PayPal against any loss arising as a result of a breach by you of your obligations under this Section for use of the Account Updater Service.

More Definitions of Account Updater Service

Account Updater Service means Cardholder data collected by the Merchant relating to a customer of the Merchant which is sent by Worldpay upon the Merchant’s request to Visa Europe and/or MasterCard to be checked and updated to ascertain whether this Cardholder data is out of date. Following these checks, the updated Cardholder data relating to the customer is either forwarded to the Merchant or stored by Worldpay on the Merchant’s behalf to assist the Merchant in taking recurring transactions;
Account Updater Service means a service provided through the Associations that enables Merchants to determine if a cardholder's account number has been updated by the cardholder's issuer, provided that the cardholder's issuer is a participant in the Account Updater program. The availability or functionality of the Account Updater Service may be modified by the Associations or Processor’s acquiring bank upon notice to Merchant.
Account Updater Service means the MasterCard Automatic Billing Updater and Visa Account Updater service that enables a merchant to obtain updated Cardholder information when its customers’ Cardholder account information changes due for certain reasons, including, but not limited to, Card expiration, Card reissuance and portfolio sales. “Record” means a Cardholder’s Card information. AU10.02 To request an updated Record for Cardholder accounts, Merchant must submit an encrypted file of the applicable Records, in the format prescribed by ISO from time to time. ISO will obtain from the Card Brands the available updated information for the Records and provide access to the information to Merchant. ISO is not responsible for ensuring that all Records submitted by Merchant receive updated information and cannot advise Merchant in advance if updated information is available for any particular Record. ISO will only provide information for a Record if such information is available and provided by the applicable Card Brand. Merchant acknowledges and agrees that ISO may discontinue the Account Updater Service at any time, including if required by Card Brand or if Merchant no longer meets the eligibility requirements to use the Account Updater Service. Merchant must be, and for so long as Merchant uses the Account Updater Service will remain, registered with the Card Brands for participation in their specific Account Updater Service and cooperate with ISO in obtaining and maintaining such registration. Merchant must not have been disqualified from participating in a Card Brand system. AU10.03 Merchant may terminate the Account Updater Service at any time upon sixty (60) days prior written notice to ISO. AU10.04 ISO will make commercially reasonable efforts to make the Account Updater Service generally available,but cannot guarantee the availability of the Account Updater Service at any particular time. For greater certainty, ISO is entitled at any time, and without prior notice, to interrupt Merchant’s access to the Account Updater Service for any reason, including without limitation for security considerations or to do maintenance work.

Advanced Fraud Management Filters offer a greater level of transaction screening, and transactions can be automatically flagged, reviewed or declined based on how you configure the filters. AVS Data: Information returned by the Address Verification System operated by or on behalf of Card Associations, which compares address data provided by an apparent cardholder with address data on file for the card at the card issuer. Card Association: A company or consortium of financial institutions which promulgates rules to govern Card Transactions that involve the card that carries the company’s or the consor/tium’s brand. Examples include Visa USA, Visa Europe, and the other Visa regions; MasterCard International Incorporated; American Express Company and similar organizations. Card Data: All personal or financial information relevant to a Card Transaction, including information recorded on the card itself (whether in human-readable form or digitally).

Provision of service 4.2 You acknowledge that we provide the Account Updater Service subject to limitations imposed on us by the relevant third party suppliers and that your use of the Account Updater Service is subject to such limitations. 4.3 To use the Account Updater Service, you shall request a Search which is a request that is separate from the Transaction, and, subject to the terms of this part, we shall provide a Response, where there is a Match, to you. Search volumes 4.4 You may submit Searches to us for (i) the European Database but only where the Cardholder’s card issuer is from the UK, Italy, Republic of Ireland or Greece; and (ii) the US Database but only where the Cardholder’s card issuer is from the United States of America or Canada. Limits as to Search volumes shall apply: You shall submit more than 20,000 Searches per Merchant ID (in no more than 10 Search Files and no Search File to exceed 10,000 Searches (inclusive)) in any day. You must submit Search Files to us: (i) for the European Database by 3pm GMT in order for the Responses (if any) to be available for collection at 4pm GMT three Business Days later; or (ii) for the US Database by 0530 PST i...
