Academic Staff Member definition

Academic Staff Member means an individual who is engaged to work for the University and is identified as an academic staff member under Article 1 of the Collective Agreement;

Academic Staff Member means a person employed in a teaching position or a non-teaching academic position. The term includes academic staff members (ASM), senior academic staff members (SASM) and principal academic staff members (PASM). Terms such as Tutor and Lecturer are generic terms which also refer to academic staff members.

Academic Staff Member means a person who is employed by the board of governors as a teacher, counsellor or librarian; (“membre du corps enseignant”)

• A level A research-only Academic Staff Member is expected to contribute towards the research effort of the institution and to develop their research expertise through the pursuit of defined projects relevant to the particular field of research.

• A level C Academic Staff Member is expected to make significant contributions to the teaching effort of a department, school, faculty or other organisational unit or an interdisciplinary area.

• The specific duties required of a level D research-only Academic Staff Member may include: • The conduct of independent research in which the Academic Staff Member may work as part of a team and the production of conference and seminar papers and publications from that research.

• A level D Academic Staff Member is expected to make a significant contribution to all activities of the organisational unit or interdisciplinary area and play a significant role within their profession or discipline.

Academic Staff Member means a person who is employed by the College as a teacher, counsellor or librarian;
