Abuse definition

Abuse means one or more of the following:
Abuse means theft, waste, or improper use of assets related to ADB-related activity, either committed intentionally or through reckless disregard;
Abuse means abuse as defined in OAR 411-020-0002 (Adult Protective Services).

Examples of Abuse in a sentence

  • You shall not knowingly offer goods or services related to, or otherwise upload, store, use, access, disclose, or transfer content that exploits, abuses, or relates to the exploitation or abuse of children, including but not limited to images or depictions of child abuse or sexual abuse, or content that presents children in a sexual manner (collectively, “Child Sexual Abuse Material” or “CSAM”) when using the Program.

  • The Provider shall immediately report any knowledge or reasonable suspicion of abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a child, aged person, or disabled adult to the Florida Abuse Hotline on the statewide toll-free telephone number (1-800-96ABUSE).

  • Abuse of sick leave privileges, as with all Rules, may be grounds for disciplinary action.

  • These reporting requirements shall in no way supersede the requirements for notification of allegations of abuse/neglect/exploitations to the State of Florida Abuse Hotline, as mandated in Chapter(s) 39 and 415, Florida Statutes.

  • The laboratory performing the test shall be one that is certified by the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA).

Abuse means provider practices that are inconsistent with sound fiscal, business, or medical practices, and result in an unnecessary cost to the medicaid program, or in reimbursement for services that are not medically necessary or that fail to meet professionally recognized standards for health care. It also includes recipient practices that result in unnecessary cost to the medicaid program.
