the Union, to continue the cooperation and spirit of goodwill between the Company and its employees, to provide for the prompt disposition of grievances arising out of this Agreement, and to set forth negotiated conditions of employment for all employees who are subject to this Agreement. The Union recognizes that in order to provide a proper relationship between the parties, the Company must be kept in a strong competitive market position, which means it must carry on business with the highest possible efficiency and lowest cost, consistent with fair labour standards, and the Union agrees to support the Company in attaining such objectives.
