The project accumulate data that supports a low cost, effective IPM method of yellowjacket control that eliminates or dramatically reduces yellowjacket complaints by park visitors. This method will also dramatically reduce the amount of insecticide used to control yellowjackets, reduce/mitigate non-target organism exposure to the insecticides used, and reduce/mitigate off-site movement of the insecticides used. Data accumulated from the monitoring and baiting program will be used to support and encourage the potential registration of a product by a private pesticide company(s).
