Working on Public Holidays. The growing of chickens is dependent on natural cycles related to the laying and hatching of chicks, and as a consequence, employees will be required to work on all public holidays.
Working on Public Holidays. All time worked on the public holidays set out in clause 6.6 (Public Holidays) outside the ordinary working hours specified in this Agreement, prescribed by a roster, or usually worked on the day of the week on which the holiday is kept, shall be paid at double the rate prescribed by this Agreement for such time when worked outside such working hours on an ordinary working day. If such a request is made, employees may be offered the choice of receiving double time and a half payments for time worked, or they may decide to receive time and a half payment plus a day off in lieu of the Public Holiday worked. This offer would be discussed with those involved in advance of the Public Holiday so that pay arrangements for any such situation are clear and agreed. This option is not an automatic choice and may not be offered to production employees.
