The Worked Holiday clause defines how holidays are treated when an employee is required to work on a day that would otherwise be a recognized holiday. Typically, this clause outlines the compensation or time-off entitlements for employees who work during such holidays, such as providing additional pay or granting substitute days off. Worked Holiday. If an Employee is required to work on a day observed as a holiday, the Employee shall be compensated at two and one-half (2½) times their regular hourly rate for the actual hours worked, in cash or compensatory time off subject to Section 2, Article C. Holiday hours will be associated with the day the shift begins. For example, if an employee comes to work at 10:00 p.m. on January 1st and works until 8:00 a.m. on January 2nd, that employee would receive the holiday premium for ten (10) hours worked.
