Work Out of Classification. Section 1. When an employee is assigned in writing for a limited period to perform the duties of a position at a higher level classification for five (5) consecutive calendar days or forty (40) consecutive straight time hours, the employee shall be compensated for all hours worked beginning from the first day of the assignment at a rate which is not less than the equivalent of one (1) step increase, or the first step of the higher range, whichever is greater.
