Common use of Work on Holidays Clause in Contracts

Work on Holidays. Employees who work on the following holidays: New Years Day, Presidents’ Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day, shall be paid at the rate of one and one-half (1 ½) times the employees regular rate of pay for all hours worked on the holiday. For purposes of this Agreement, the holiday shall begin at 11:00 p.m. on the day preceding the holiday and will end at 11:30 p.m. on the day of the holiday. Hours worked on a holiday that are into overtime will be paid at time and a half rather than straight time.
