WORK CATEGORIES. The following are general descriptions of the work categories listed above. These descriptions are not intended to restrict the work that may be performed by an employee assigned to a position under this Agreement. These descriptions of work also are not intended to limit the work that other DM&E employees or third parties may perform as stated in Rule 1: Xxxxxxx Mechanic -- an employee who plans, directs, and generally oversees the work of other employees on a crew or work team, but who also may perform any other work for which qualified including, but not limited to, the work defined for Mechanics. Mechanic – an employee who has successfully completed the Mechanic Apprentice Training Program and who inspects, repairs, and maintains locomotives and cars, either independently or as part of a work group, and who may perform any other work for which qualified including, but not limited to, such other duties as may be assigned in the course of his employment within the Mechanical Services Department.
WORK CATEGORIES. Below are the categories of Work for which future CWA’s may be requested. Implementer is required to fill out the capabilities chart for PG&E to determine the type of Work Implementer is capable of performing on the Capabilities Chart attached as Exhibit C. The Work performed will only benefit Customers in the PG&E Service Territory as outlined on Exhibit D. Guidelines and examples of the tasks to perform and implement the Work in these categories are attached as the Scope of Work Guideline on Exhibit E.

The sign-up shall be posted at least fourteen (14) days prior to the effective date and shall be completely signed up by the maintenancestaffwithin (5) days of posting. Shifts shall be signed for inseniority with the exceptionof appointed Leadhands and any other agreement.Appointed Leadhandsshall be assigned shifts bythe Employer. Eachsign-up shall include relief shifts which shall be designated by Employeessigning these shifts shall rotate in order to ensure the number of shift changes will be as muchas possible. Employeesholding relief may be requiredto changetheir hours of work and days off inorder to providecoveragefor a vacated shift for reasons of sickness, accident, training, transfer, leaveof absence or vacation. Daysoff for employees holdingrelief shifts may be adjusted to ensure the employee has four (4) days off in a pay period. Every effort will be madeto create the maximum number of eight (8) hour shifts, The hours of work provisionsshall not restrictthe Employerfrom creating shifts of ten (10) hours durationwith three days off, should work situationswarrant.
