Work Allocation. It is not the intent of the Company to have employees working in one (1) classification and also performing work in another classification at the same time nor work on more than one (1) line in the class at one time. In the event that advanced technology reduces the effort necessary to operate particular equipment this letter will be re-evaluated. However, the Company may re-evaluate in consultation with the Union Committee combining work in the same classification and or departments when necessary to improve efficiency subject to the provisions of the agreement. #5 - Fans Company will provide fan coverage for all employees requesting same. Request shall be made to the department supervisor and shall cover the months of May through September.

Work Allocation. 14.1 The University acknowledges that work allocation for all employees will be reasonable and within the scope of the relevant position description. To ensure University employees are familiar with this provision, a copy of this clause will be included and explained when completing their induction to the University. The University and employees recognise the importance of a balance between working life and family/social responsibilities and work demands should fit within this principle. Work allocated to employees will be reasonable and manageable within the span of hours and ordinary hours of work as specified in this Agreement.

Work Allocation. 10.1 The University will ensure that the workloads of employees covered by this Schedule are fair and reasonable. To ensure that workloads are reasonable, employees will not be allocated teaching and other duties which would require the employee to work more than an average of 36.25 hours per week. In accordance with clause 9.6 of this Schedule, the maximum contact hours that can be allocated for a full-time Language Instructor are 810 hours over 45 weeks per year. This amount will be adjusted on a pro- rata basis where the number of teaching weeks is reduced; for example where an employee is on leave.

The equitable and transparent distribution of work allocations among Employees and ensuring work allocations are fair and reasonable are fundamental to this commitment. Supervisors and managers will: • take all reasonable steps to ensure that Employees do not work unreasonable or excessive hours; • consult with Employees in planning and reviewing annual work allocations; • recognise the importance of a balance between working life and family/social responsibilities; • provide reasonable funds for Employee development activities to ensure access by all Employees and in recognition of the importance of ongoing Employee development for individual and organisational growth; • ensure that Employees are supported to contribute to, participate in and support University diversity and inclusion initiatives, activities and networks as outlined in the University’s strategic objectives; • ensure that workloads of Employees who have recognised cultural and ceremonial commitments consistent with the University’s strategic objectives, are taken into account in the relevant workload allocation; and • ensure that Employees can take annual leave and long service leave in a timely manner so that Employees have adequate breaks from work.

Work Allocation. 13.6.1 Where an employee is required to perform duties including but not limited to such activities as: • preparation of plans, including person centred planning; • reports for committee of management and DHS and similar stake holders; • program development and planning, • evaluation of activities and programs, • community liaison and development, • training and research, • occupational health and safety planning and implementation, • meetings the employee will be allocated time away from direct contact with service users.
