WORK ABSENCES. A xxxxxxx shall be allowed to leave work for a reasonable period of time without loss of pay in order to fulfil their obligations under this Agreement as defined in Article 14.01. Before leaving work for such purposes, a xxxxxxx shall obtain permission from their immediate supervisor, which permission shall not be unreasonably withheld. Such prior permission shall also be required before any employee leaves work to consult with their xxxxxxx or to participate in discussions concerning a complaint or grievance. The xxxxxxx or employee shall inform their immediate supervisor upon return to work.

WORK ABSENCES. Paid Time Off (PTO) and bereavement leave shall be granted to all employees working at least 20 hours per week and prorated according to the percent of full-time equivalency (FTE).

  • Other Absences An employee who is absent from work for any reason, other than those reasons listed above, will not be entitled either to have his/her vacation scheduled or to receive a vacation allowance during the period of such absence.

  • Excused Absences Absences will be excused only under the following circumstances.

  • Leaves of Absences 14.01 Written requests for personal leaves of absence without pay for educational or personal reasons will be considered on an individual basis by the nurse’s manager or her designate. Such requests are to be submitted as far in advance as possible with a minimum notice of four (4) weeks except in cases of emergency or if the Employer determines that service needs and staffing requirements can accommodate a leave on shorter notice. A written reply will be given as soon as possible. Such leave shall not be unreasonably withheld. Except in unusual circumstances, a leave of absence other than for educational reasons will not be granted until one (1) year’s continuous service has been completed.

  • Leaves and Absences A. 1) Ten (10) days of sick leave shall be credited annually to each teacher in accordance with Section 1154A of the School Code. The total unused portion of the annual sick leave allowance shall be permitted to accumulate indefinitely. Xxxx leave accumulated prior to a leave of absence shall be credited to the teacher upon return from the leave.

  • EXTENDED LEAVES OF ABSENCE 1. Military leave without pay shall be granted to any employee who is inducted in any branch of the armed forces of the United States for the period of said service.

  • Unexcused Absences Employees who are absent without approved leave (with the exception of emergencies) may be subject to discipline, up to and including discharge from employment.

  • Other Leaves of Absence In the event that you are on a bona fide leave of absence, not otherwise described in this definition, from which you have not returned to employment with the Company or an Affiliate, your Separation from Service has occurred on the first day on which your leave of absence period exceeds six months or, if earlier, upon your termination of employment (provided that such termination of employment constitutes a Separation from Service in accordance with the last sentence of the first paragraph of this definition).
