Welsh Language. The Board shall seek to comply with the principles of the Welsh Language Xxx 0000, the Welsh Language Measure 2011 and adhere to the relevant requirements of the Council’s current Welsh Language Scheme; a copy of which can be requested from the Authorised Representative. Guidance about providing services and written materials in Welsh can be obtained from the Welsh Language Commissioner on 0845 6033 221 or by visiting xxx.xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.xxx The Board shall have in place and operate an up-to-date Welsh Language Policy. The Board shall take all reasonable and practicable steps to deliver the Service to the Service User in the language medium of the Service User’s choice.
Welsh Language. 5.6.2.1. The preparation of the RLDP and all engagement with stakeholders and the public will be undertaken in accordance with the Council’s Welsh language standards and the Welsh Language Standards Regulations 2015 • The Authority welcomes correspondence in Welsh or English and will deal with Welsh and English correspondence to the same standards and timescales; • Correspondents will receive a reply in the language of the original correspondence; • All forms, consultation documents (excluding technical documents), publicity materials and correspondence will be bilingual; and • All meetings, whether formal or informal, will be conducted bilingually where requested beforehand.
Welsh Language. The preparation of the LDP, engagement and consultation will conform to the Council’s Welsh Language Scheme. Wherever possible public documents will be published bilingually, although where they are technical in nature and of limited public interest the need for the document to be bilingual will be reviewed.
Welsh Language. 3.7.1. The Welsh Language Standards were published by the Welsh Language Commissioner as a set of legally binding requirements that have applied from the 30th March 2016. The principal aim of the Welsh Language Standards is to ensure that Welsh is not treated less favourably than English, thus ensuring greater consistency in Welsh Language services. The Standards therefore allow individuals to access services via the medium of Welsh, English or bilingually. The Council published Strategaeth Hybu’s Gymraeg/Welsh Language Promotion Strategy in September 2016, which alongside the Standards, will be adhered to at each stage of the plan-making process.
Welsh Language. 22.1 In accordance to the Welsh Language (Wales) Measure 2011 the Welsh Language will not be treated less favourably than the English Language in relation to this Agreement.
Welsh Language. The Welsh language is a living language across our ten rural towns and our communities and is a fundamental part of many of our businesses, not only in the workplace but while creating products and providing services. It’s an integral part of the business offer. According to the Welsh Language Commissioner’s research paper, ‘Welsh in the shopping basket’, 68% of consumers like seeing the use of the language within business. The language is seen as a viable service that can be of advantage to local businesses. Carmarthenshire County Council also holds a statutory responsibility to provide services and promote the Language through the Welsh language Standards. We must provide opportunities for persons to use the Welsh language and ensure that the Language is treated no less favourably than the English language. Responsibilities also include bilingual information, marketing, and internal /external signage. Welsh Language. (a) The Subcontractor shall ensure that all of the Services provided by or on behalf of the Contractor in Wales will operate within the requirements of the Welsh Language Scheme. The Subcontractor shall, at all times during the Contract Period, comply with the principles of the Authority's Welsh Language Scheme at no cost to the Contractor, specifically in relation to provision of written material in a bilingual format and access to Welsh-speaking authorised employees.
Welsh Language. We will identify and support opportunities to develop a bilingual workforce across the screen sector; We will maximise the use of S4C content and commissions to support the target of a million Welsh speakers by 2050; We will use S4C content to support education and learning in Wales including through the Welsh Government’s Hwb platform and through S4C’s partnership with the National Centre for Learning Welsh; We will identify opportunities to use S4C content to help develop assistive technology that will support the accessibility of Welsh language content across platforms, including Welsh speech-to-text technology. Delivery commitments S4C commits to: Up to £1m p.a. for Welsh language film, noting the impact of the lead in time associated with the establishment of a process to fund Welsh language films on level of spend in the short term; Invest a minimum of £6m p.a. in original TV drama for the next three years with £300k ring-fenced for new drama development; Continue to invest a minimum of £200k p.a. in skills and talent development to ensure a highly-skilled, bilingual workforce in a production sector that is representative of Wales today. In particular we will develop skills in the priority areas of creating innovative digital content, storytelling and scripting, and those needed to grow factual programming in Wales to become as successful as drama; Continue to develop original formatted factual and feature documentary content under the S4C Originals brand; A new diversity, equality and inclusion strategy which will continue S4C’s work towards a sector and content that reflects the Wales of today – on-screen and behind the camera. We will support training partnerships and projects to bring under-represented people to work on S4C content, working with Creative Wales, other broadcasters and partners including TAC, the creative unions, Screen Alliance Wales, It’s My Shout, Culture Connect Wales, Theatr Genedlaethol Cymru, Urdd Gobaith Cymru and others. We will particularly focus on improving representation of disabled people and people from ethnically diverse backgrounds in the sector; Work towards a zero carbon, zero waste screen sector in Wales and a sustainable production chain for S4C through our involvement in Xxxxxx. Welsh Language. 22.1 In accordance with the requirements of the Welsh Language Act 1993, the Council has adopted the principle that, in the conduct of public business, it will treat the English and Welsh languages on a basis of equality. The way in which the Council gives effect to the principle is set out in its Welsh Language Scheme. The Scheme is likely to be relevant to all stages of the process of preparing the LDP, but particularly to the way in which the Council publicises proposals, consults with the public, communicates with those making representations and in making arrangements for the conduct of the examination proceedings. The pre-examination meeting will provide a forum where practical questions relating to the languages used at the examination can be discussed so that those who wish to participate in the process through the medium of either English or Welsh language may do so effectively. Part Four: Monitoring and Review
Welsh Language. The SSWBA outlines the requirement for the IAA service to be actively offered in Welsh. A strategic framework has been produced by Welsh Government (Reference List, point 2) to address this requirement. The Welsh Language requirements of the IAA are also impacted upon by the Welsh Language Standards Regulations (Reference List, point 3). Under the WLSR, all communications with the citizens of Cardiff will need to be offered in Welsh, and their preferences recorded for future communications. Both the FPoC and Social Services will share the responsibility of offering and providing an IAA service in Welsh. The FPoC must make arrangements to ensure resilience of the Welsh Language service to cover sickness / absence / leave etc. (for example through the utilisation of Welsh speakers in Connect 2 Cardiff).
