Weekend Assignments. “This provision is not applicable to a casual employee (except a casual employee while in a Temporary Position)”. All Employees shall be normally scheduled to work weekends. Employees will be scheduled a minimum of every second weekend off, except where there is a mutual agreement between the Employer and Employee to work more weekends. Should the Employer be operationally able to schedule two (2) weekends off in three (3), employees will be scheduled based on seniority.

Effective with the first calendar quarter (three months) following the implementation of the results of the re- evaluation of the Correctional Counselor job classification under the Pay Equity Agreement and for each quarter of a year (three months) thereafter each employee in the Field Services Division may be assigned to work one shift, at the applicable work day length, on a Saturday or Sunday.

Weekend Assignments. Effective June 1, 2014, at a minimum, 2 Case Managers and Utilization Review Nurses will be assigned to the weekend. The Saturday and Sunday assignment may be split. Management will first seek volunteers from Pool staff, and then volunteers from the regular staff. If in the event, no one volunteers, the regular staff will be required to work based on rotating reverse order of bargaining unit seniority. CDU will be covered by the weekend Case Manager rather than the Emergency Department Case Manager. The rate of pay for Pool employees shall be in accordance with Article 22. Full-time and part-time Case Managers who work the weekend will receive a weekend bonus in the amount of $175.00 for each weekend day worked. Saturday and Sunday weekend hours for Pool employees will be paid Pool rate. FT/PT Case Managers working the weekend will be entitled to one week day off for each weekend day worked. The request for a specific day off during the week will not be unreasonably denied. The requested day off shall be by mutual agreement. Weekend Assignments will be scheduled on a calendar quarterly basis. The schedules will be 6 weeks in duration and the next final posted schedule will be posted during the 4th week of the active schedule. Emergency Department Case Managers are scheduled for coverage on Saturday and on Sunday. In the event an Emergency Department Case Manager volunteers for extra weekend coverage, he/she shall receive $175.00 for each extra weekend day worked and will be entitled to a corresponding weekday off. Both parties agree there will be no unilateral decisions made regarding issues which are mandatory subject(s) to bargaining pertaining to this weekend Agreement. Case Managers who are members of the Bargaining Unit prior to the ratification of the Case Management Collective Bargaining Agreement (February 8, 2005) will not work weekends. However, they may volunteer to do so. Case Managers will not do home care clerical tasks, unless in emergency situations, or Licensed Social Work.
Weekend Assignments. In the event that a program is established requiring regular weekend work, the Union and the District will negotiate a fair and equitable system for the assignment of employees for the weekend operation.
