Waiver Days. When the district schedules waiver days in full day increments, the food service and transportation department bargaining unit members will schedule their waiver day outside the scheduled student year, with supervisor approval.
Waiver Days. In an effort to improve learning and meet school improvement plans, the use of waiver day(s) shall be determined by the entire staff and building principal in accordance with State Board of Education waiver allowance.

When procured waivers are for professional development any subsequent plans must comply with and closely align with the approved waiver application, the requirements of WAC 000-00-000, and all other applicate statutes and requirements, key among them being the following:
Waiver Days. The Board and GEA may mutually agree to schedule up to two (2) waiver days for professional development. GEA District Leadership Team members will be consulted regarding the structure, planning, and content of waiver day activities. Employees who are unable to attend will have the content of waiver day activities and/or any materials made available to them. Waiver Days. 39 In the event that the school district is not approved by the State Board of Education for 40 Waiver Days, the District is not obligated to continue these training days, however, the 41 former Waiver Days will revert to regular work days. 42 43 Training, as appropriate, will be provided on Waiver Days. Should employees choose 44 not to participate in training on these Waiver Days, they will be allowed to work their 45 regular work shift at their regular site, take leave without pay, and/or take appropriate 46 leave. 1 Delete unneeded language; all para’s currently meet this standard, and all new hires have to 2 meet this before starting.
Waiver Days. During the term of this Agreement, the District and the Union agree to a collaborative process to deal with the voluntary and /or mandatory assignment of work for non-student waiver days.

Prior to any state-granted waiver day(s), the Teaching and Learning teams at each building will design the nature of the work to be done and structure the use of time to include no less than three (3) hours of collaboration time. When planning collaborative work does not directly involve specialists or Educational Staff Associates, principals will align the instruction of the day so the individuals within those groups may work with job-alike colleagues from other buildings.
Waiver Days. Waiver days (professional development days) that occur during a school year will be considered work days.
