VOC’s. Only construction materials that emit low levels of volatile organic compounds (VOC) shall be used within indoor areas. Adequate ventilation of packaged dry products shall be used prior to installation. Contractor is responsible to ventilate the building during the application of wet products (e.g., paints, glues, sealants), which release their highest levels of VOC's during the curing period immediately after the application. Also, wet products shall be applied before installing materials that act as "sinks" such as carpets, fabric, ceiling tiles, movable partitions, furniture, etc. in order to reduce the chance of the "sinks" absorbing contaminants and slowly releasing them into the building over time.

VOC’s. All Institutional Furniture under the resulting Price Agreement shall be third-party certified as to meeting the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Standard Method v1.1.-2010 (or most current), for the testing and evaluation of VOC emissions from indoor sources using the office environment exposure scenario (Emission testing method California Specification 01350). VOC Certification and Documentation Requirements Third-party certification must be performed by a certification organization that is ISO 17065:2012 compliant and the laboratory’s Quality Management System (QMS) and applicable test procedures are conducted in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025:2005. Documentation demonstrating compliance with this requirement shall be provided to the City upon request. Third-party VOC certification documentation shall be provided to the City for all Institutional Furniture. The third-party product certification documentation must specifically state:  Product manufacturer name and addressBrand name of certified product(s)  Any exclusions to the certifications (e.g. specific product configurations/options that are not certified)  Certified product conforms to the required specification  The exposure scenario used to determine compliance  Certification start date and expiration date  Name and address of the certification organization

  • Ergonomics The supervisor/manager will provide training and equipment for staff to safely perform job functions and avoid injury. Employees should contact their supervisor if job procedures, equipment or workstations lead to risk of injury or work-related musculoskeletal disorders. Further ergonomic guidelines shall be referenced on the Environmental Health and Safety website xxx.xxx.xxxxxxxxxx.xxx.

  • Barriers Barriers shall be used to prevent the migration of airborne pollutants from areas under construction and to mitigate any construction noise that may disrupt occupant activities. If effective controls for pollution emissions cannot be practically implemented, activities involving significant airborne pollutants shall be scheduled during off-hours at Contractor’s expense. The Site shall be ventilated with fresh outside air during and immediately after the noxious activity.

  • Power System Stabilizers The Developer shall procure, install, maintain and operate Power System Stabilizers in accordance with the requirements identified in the Interconnection Studies conducted for Developer’s Large Generating Facility. NYISO and Connecting Transmission Owner reserve the right to reasonably establish minimum acceptable settings for any installed Power System Stabilizers, subject to the design and operating limitations of the Large Generating Facility. If the Large Generating Facility’s Power System Stabilizers are removed from service or not capable of automatic operation, the Developer shall immediately notify the Connecting Transmission Owner and NYISO. The requirements of this paragraph shall not apply to wind generators.

  • Voltage Regulators Whenever the Large Generating Facility is operated in parallel with the New York State Transmission System, the automatic voltage regulators shall be in automatic operation at all times. If the Large Generating Facility’s automatic voltage regulators are not capable of such automatic operation, the Developer shall immediately notify NYISO, or its designated representative, and ensure that such Large Generating Facility’s real and reactive power are within the design capability of the Large Generating Facility’s generating unit(s) and steady state stability limits and NYISO system operating (thermal, voltage and transient stability) limits. Developer shall not cause its Large Generating Facility to disconnect automatically or instantaneously from the New York State Transmission System or trip any generating unit comprising the Large Generating Facility for an under or over frequency condition unless the abnormal frequency condition persists for a time period beyond the limits set forth in ANSI/IEEE Standard C37.106, or such other standard as applied to other generators in the New York Control Area on a comparable basis.

  • Prescription Safety Glasses Prescription safety glasses will be furnished by the employer. The employer retains the authority to establish reasonable rules and procedures regarding frequency of issue, replacement of damaged glasses, limits on reimbursement costs and coordination with the employer's vision plan.

  • Safety Glasses 10.3.1 Where a teacher is considered to be working in an “eye danger” area, the teacher shall receive a personal issue of standard neutral safety glasses which shall remain the property of the employer.

  • Screening 3.13.1 Refuse containers located outside the building shall be fully screened from adjacent properties and from streets by means of opaque fencing or masonry walls with suitable landscaping.

  • Smoke Detectors At Owner's expense, smoke detectors will be installed on the Property in working condition in accordance with the law prior to the tenant's occupancy. During the occupancy, it shall be the tenant's responsibility to maintain all smoke detectors. Owner will replace smoke detector equipment as needed.
