Common use of Vehicles and Equipment Clause in Contracts

Vehicles and Equipment. 15.1 The Employer agrees to provide vehicles that are properly equipped and maintained in good running order. Employees are required to ensure that they have carried out safety checks in accordance with Company regulations and the Highway Traffic Act before leaving the yard and are required to report any defect immediately. If the defect occurs during the operation of the vehicle and is not an emergency the employee is to complete a written repair order on return to the yard. Employees are required to maintain an acceptable level of cleanliness in the vehicle being operated. Employees shall not operate vehicles which are not in a safe operating condition and not equipped with the safety appliances required by law.
