Vehicle Specifications. 5.1.1 The Supplier shall provide manual transmission Vehicles for all hires (where possible) unless the Contracting Authority(s) has requested a Vehicle with automatic transmission. Automatic transmission Vehicles can be requested on the grounds of disability and/or duty of care where it would enhance safety. It is also acknowledged that Electric Vehicles and some other low emission technology Vehicles are automatic.
Vehicle Specifications. All vehicles used in service pursuant to this Agreement shall be equipped with a two-way radio or other acceptable telecommunications device (including, but not limited to, cell phones) and shall, at all times, be maintained in a reasonable operating condition and shall be kept in clean and comfortable condition for the transportation of eligible passengers. Vehicles used to transport eligible passengers who use a wheelchair shall be equipped with an operable wheelchair lift or ramp. Regardless of the manner in which a vehicle is equipped, all rides will be compensated at the applicable ambulatory or nonambulatory rate under Section 9.1.D, as the case may be. Compliance with vehicle specifications shall be subject to regular monitoring by the City or the designated representative of Wichita Transit.

Vehicle Specifications. Except for the disaster vehicle described in Section 7.10.8, ambulance vehicles shall be new and of a Type I, II, or III and shall meet or exceed the current Federal KKK-A-1822 standards and applicable State of Washington requirements. Replacement vehicles shall meet or exceed the equivalent Federal KKK standards at the time of the vehicle being placed into service, except where such standards exceed State of Washington standards, in which case the State standards shall prevail. The City accepts the vehicles placed into service on or around May 22, 2002 as meeting the requirement of “new” for the purposes of this Section.
