VALUE ENGINEERING Services. 7.3.4.1 Throughout the design and engineering phase of the Work, the DB Contractor and the Design Professionals shall continually provide value engineering services, all of which services shall be performed so as to assist the State in achieving its objectives, including those related to schedule, cost, functional performance, and aesthetics. Factors to be considered by the DB Contractor and the Design Professionals in providing such services shall include: site use; selection of building materials, equipment and systems; availability of labor; methods and means of construction and installation; and any other similar items creating economies or cost savings for the Project. Particular attention shall be given to alternative design proposals, possible economies, and identification of options that would maximize the benefits the State would derive upon completion of the Work.

VALUE ENGINEERING Services. A. Definition: CONTRACTOR shall be required to perform Value Engineering Services to identify opportunities to reduce Project cost at the conclusion of each phase of design and during DSA review. The Value Engineering Services shall be provided in the form of a report to the Program Manager and shall identify value engineering opportunities, alternative materials and alternative methods and the associated cost savings estimated by the CONTRACTOR.

VALUE ENGINEERING Services. The Project Management Firm will review and consider relative construction feasibility, availability of construction materials and labor, new materials and methods, alternate solutions, time requirements for installation and construction, impact of winter construction, and other construction value engineering factors related to Project cost in the Preconstruction and Construction Phase administration of the Project scope of work requirements. The Project Management Firm providing the construction management/value engineering review services for this Contract shall be legally permitted by law and licensed under the State of Michigan’s professional licensing and regulation provisions of the Occupational Code, Act 299 of the Public Acts of the 1980, Article 20, as amended, to practice architecture, engineering, environmental engineering, land surveying, or landscape architecture services in the State of Michigan.

VALUE ENGINEERING Services. If the Owner requests that the Contractor furnish Value Engineering Services, the Contractor shall be responsible for reviewing the architectural, civil, mechanical, electrical, structural, landscaping, lighting and signage, Drawings and Specifications as they are being developed, and for advising and making recommendations with respect to such factors as constructability, feasibility, possible economies, project costs, availability of material and labor, and time requirements for procurement and construction, installation methods and design criteria. The Contractor shall not be responsible for the accuracy, completeness, adequacy or coordination of the Drawings and Specifications, or the quality of the engineering and design represented therein. Contractor shall be entitled to reimbursement of certain labor and personnel costs during the Value Engineering Period, as provided in Section 8.1.1.5, but otherwise shall not be entitled to compensation or reimbursement of costs in connection with the furnishing of Value Engineering Services. All Value Engineering Services shall be performed in accordance with the obligations and responsibilities set forth in the Mold Addendum attached hereto as Exhibit H.

Related to VALUE ENGINEERING Services

  • Engineering Services Definition: Engineering Services includes any service or creative work, the adequate performance of which requires education, training and experience in the application of special knowledge in consulting, investigating, evaluating, planning and designing, engineering principles. Engineering Services covered by the Xxxxxx Architect-Engineers Act (40 U.S.C. 1102) are not covered in the primary scope of OASIS SB. Examples: Service areas that are included under the Engineering Services discipline include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Value Engineering The Supplier may prepare, at its own cost, a value engineering proposal at any time during the performance of the contract. The value engineering proposal shall, at a minimum, include the following;

  • Scaling Services Scaling services shall be performed by Forest Service personnel or parties under contract to Forest Service, except that weighing services may be performed by personnel or parties approved by Forest Service. Scaling shall be provided in accordance with the instructions and specifications in A9. Scalers shall be currently certified to perform accurate Scaling services. The Scaling services provided shall be selected exclusively by Forest Service.
