VACATION WITH PAY. 21.01 Each employee shall receive a vacation allowance on their gross wages in accordance with the schedule as set out in the appropriate Provincial Appendix, which shall be included in their weekly pay.

VACATION WITH PAY. 30.01 Employees covered by this Agreement shall be entitled to the following vacations with pay.
VACATION WITH PAY. 21.01 a) An employee who has less than one (1) year of service as of December 31 shall be entitled to one (1) week vacation. Vacation pay shall be four percent (4%) of the employee’s gross earnings for the year ending December 31.
VACATION WITH PAY a) All employees covered by this Agreement will receive vacation with pay in accordance with Appendix attached to and forming part of this Agreement. All employees must take their vacation by May of the following year, and such vacation shall not be accumulated from year to year. Requests for xxxx- tions at a later date may be granted by mutual agree- ment by the Company and the Union in writing. The Company agrees to meet with the Union by the first of February of each year to discuss vacation period plans, including the scheduling of a summer shutdown. Such arrangements will be posted by April or sooner, if possible. All employees will take vacations in periods of less than one week. In the event that a shutdown is scheduled and provided adequate coverage is maintained, employees, with more than one year of service, who are not able to be assigned the xxxx- tion shutdown, will be allowed at least two con- secutive weeks off between the first full or partial week of July or the last full or partial week of August. A list of employees who have not completed vacation entitlement by February of each year, shall be made available to the Union upon request. Vacations will be scheduled throughout the year as far in advance as possible, giving due regard to departmental production requirements and seniority. All employees are to take their vacation entitlement during the plant shutdown. Employees with more than three weeks entitlement may take additional vacation during June, July and August providing they apply, in writing, no later than April of each year and the Company will respond in writing to the request by the end of the first full week following April At other times of the year, employees must apply in writing at least two weeks in advance of the date they wish to start their vacation and the Company will respond in writing to their request within five work- ing days. When an employee’s vacation has been approved in writing and scheduled, such scheduling shall not be changed without the consent of the employee. In the year of his/her retirement, an employee shall have the option to take regular vacation entitlement, or to work straight through until date of retirement. It is understood that vacation pay cheques will be given out only as vacations are being taken, effective May of each year. Vacation payments will also be prorated in the event an employee has been granted an unpaid leave of absence in accordance with Article 18:01.
VACATION WITH PAY. 17.01 The vacation year for calculation purposes shall be from June 1st to May 31st or closest pay period to it during the term of this Agreement. The Company may require all employees, subject to this Agreement, to take a vacation period and may close the plant or any part of the operation for that purpose at any time convenient to the Company, between July 1st and September 1st in any year, but not to exceed two (2) consecutive weeks and employees shall be notified by April 30th. If any of the Paid Holidays occur during an employee’s vacation, the employee will be granted an extra day off with pay at the beginning or end of the vacation. Employees who are scheduled to remain on duty during any plant shutdown or who have vacation entitlement in excess of two (2) weeks will be allowed their vacation at a mutually convenient time. The Company will not unreasonably deny any such requests. Responses will be in writing and the Union will receive copies of all requests and responses. Any denial will include an explanation and alternative dates for the employee’s consideration. If work is required during a vacation shutdown period, the opportunity to work will be offered to employees by classification seniority.

Employees shall be entitled to take vacation credits earned to the nearest half (1/2) day. Vacation credits of less than half (1/2) a day shall be carried forward and shall continue to accrue. For clarity, an employee who commenced work on April 30, 1994, and who had no outstanding vacation credits as of May 1, 1999, will accumulate eleven (11) days of paid vacation credits as of December 31, 1999 (sixty-eight (68) months’ service, monthly accrual rate of 1.33 days per month). The period from May 1, 1999 to December 31, 1999 is eight (8) months, therefore vacation credit calculation is 8 x 1.33 = 10.64 days. The employee is entitled to take vacation to a maximum of 10.5 days as they are earned during this eight (8) month period. The remaining entitlement (0.14 day) shall be carried forward.
