Vacation Travel Time. 18.15 Every employee who is proceeding on vacation leave and who is requesting Vacation Travel Assistance shall be granted, once in each fiscal year, in addition to his/her vacation leave, subject to Article 18.15(b), travel time with pay for the time required for the return journey between his/her normal place of work and his/her destination. The amount of travel time to which an employee is entitled is determined in the following manner:

Vacation Travel Time. Each permanent employee shall receive four (4) days leave with pay once each vacation year for the purpose of travel when taking his annual vacation, provided he liquidates at least five (5) consecutive days of vacation leave. These travel days are not to be accumulated from year to year unless the employee is prohibited, by the Employer, from taking his vacation in any vacation year. For any employee to carry over his travel days, he must apply to the Senior Administrative Officer or his designate to have the days carried over and in doing so, show that he was operationally unable to take vacation at any time throughout the vacation year.
Vacation Travel Time. Employees shall be eligible to receive thirty-two (32) hours leave with pay each vacation year for the purpose of travel when taking their annual vacation. Employees may use travel days in increments of eight (8) hours, up to thirty-two (32) hours, at any one time, provided they liquidate at least forty (40) hours of vacation leave, taken consecutively each time they use travel days. These travel days are not be accumulated from year to year unless the employee is prohibited by the Employer from taking vacation in any vacation year. For employees hired part way through the year, this shall be pro-rated in the first year based on the number of months they have worked and providing this exceeds six months of employment. In the first year, if an employee has not completed the probationary period, there shall be no vacation travel days allotted and, as such, no carry over of vacation travel days. For employees to carry over their travel days, they must apply to the Senior Administrative Officer or designate to have the days carried over and in doing so, show that they were operationally unable to take vacation at any time throughout the vacation year.

  • Travel Time All employees shall be paid travel time allowance per day (as per Appendix A) for each day on which they present themselves for work. The allowance is to be paid for rostered days off and in the case of Apprentices, the days on which they attend trade school, but not payable for either sick leave, annual leave or public holidays. As it is an allowance received during ordinary time, it should also be included in calculations for superannuation contributions.

  • Vacation Buy Back Employees shall have the option of requesting pay in lieu of time off up to a maximum of 144 hours of vacation time each year, during each year of the contract in increments of eight (8) hrs. Such requests are subject to the approval of the department head and the availability of funds.

  • VACATION PLAN 2 All employees in the bargaining unit shall earn paid vacation time 3 under this Article. Vacation benefits are earned on a fiscal year 4 basis--July 1 to June 30.
