Vacation Selection. Beginning January 2 of each calendar year, employees will be scheduled a time, based on seniority, to select up to three (3) segments of available vacation leave during the time period of April 1 through March 31. A “segment” is one (1) or more contiguous days of vacation leave. No segment shall include more than ten (10) consecutive days of vacation leave in June, July, and/or August, provided that an employee may select contiguous segments of vacation leave. Each employee will be guaranteed one (1) scheduled workweek of vacation leave if requested as one of their segments. Off-shift times to select a vacation will not be considered as “time worked” for purposes of computing callback or overtime. If an employee is unable to be present during their scheduled time they may make their choice by telephone, email, or another individual with written documentation of designation, may select a vacation segment(s) for the employee. If the employee fails to select their vacation during their assigned time, the Employer may proceed with scheduling. The employee will be provided an opportunity to select their segment(s) at a later date when they are available. The Employer will publish the vacation schedule by March 1, after considering requests, as well as Agency program needs. Employees will complete a Leave Request Form no less than thirty (30) days prior to any approved vacation segment taken.
Vacation Selection. Vacation selection in the ranks above Police Specialist in the Cincinnati Police Department shall be according to seniority as determined by the members date of appointment to his/her current rank. If two or more employees were promoted on the same day from the same overall promotional eligibility list, vacation seniority shall be determined by final overall numerical promotional examination rankings. Vacation selection shall be made by the last Monday in February of the vacation year. The vacation list shall be typed, including any necessary selection changes, approved and posted on the first Monday of March. If any selection is changed, it will be done in accordance with seniority as listed above. Once posted a member shall not be compelled to change a selected vacation. A bargaining unit member who returns to service as a Cincinnati Police Officer following resignation from the Cincinnati Police Department shall use his/her date of rehire or reinstatement for purposes of establishing his/her vacation seniority date, except as provided in section 19(c).
Vacation Selection. (a) Subject To Essential Operational Requirements Selection of vacation periods under this Agreement shall be subject to essential operational requirements, which right the Employer must invoke prior to any vacation selection in accordance with this Clause 21.08.
Vacation Selection. Employees may select their vacation in full weeks and on a day-at-a-time basis during the vacation selection process. Vacations shall be selected in a work group as determined by the Company, based on seniority. The Company shall determine periods available for selection and the number of employees allowed off on vacation.
Vacation Selection. Employees who have not selected their vacation periods by November 15th shall not be entitled later to select vacation periods by seniority. Employees who do not select all of their vacation entitlements on the calendar shall be allowed to schedule vacation at a later date, provided that this selection does not affect the scheduled vacations of other employees.
Vacation Selection. (a) Annual vacation shall be regulated on a mutually agreed basis within the workplace. In cases of disagreement, seniority shall govern in the Employee's first selection of an unbroken period of vacation. However, when annual vacations are split, seniority shall only govern in that first selection as indicated by the employee. In order for an Employee to exercise her rights she must make her vacation selection by March 1 of each year.
Vacation Selection. This language replaces all of section 13.8 from the Master. Management will divide its department into work groups. Management will secure a calendar and provide it to the Union Xxxxxxx as a vacation planner. The planner will indicate the number of employees in each classification who may take vacation on any particular day. Any time period noted on the calendar as a blackout period will be subject to the provisions below. A vacation planner will be circulated by the Union Xxxxxxx between November 1 and December 15 of each year. The vacation planner will be circulated in seniority order. Each employee shall make his/her vacation selection as soon as possible but shall have no more than forty eight (48) hours to do so. This time period may be extended by management in the event of extenuating circumstances. Each employee may request as many vacation days as are available to them within the calendar year. If an employee has insufficient vacation or compensatory time to cover a scheduled vacation day selected, that vacation day shall be considered cancelled, and the employee is expected to report to work on that day. The employee with the greater classification seniority shall be given priority in his/her choice of vacation time during the selection time. Blackout periods. Any time noted on the vacation planner as a blackout period shall be subject to the following special conditions. Employees may request vacation only for days that are identified on the vacation planner as available for vacation. Extended vacations (vacations of three (3) or more consecutive days) are highly discouraged and will be approved on a case-by-case basis. Employees signing up for vacation during the blackout period understand they will be subject to the short notice vacation rule. Employees signing up for vacation during the blackout period must complete a vacation request form not less than two weeks prior to the vacation request date. Employees understand that vacation during the blackout period will only be approved in very rare circumstances and even though employees have signed up for vacation during the vacation planning stage, there is no guarantee the time shall be granted. The list of approved vacation requests will be posted no later than thirty (30) days after the completion of the vacation circulation.
