Vacation Leave Sell Back. All members of represented classifications who have completed at least four years of service shall have the option of selling one week (56 hours for employees assigned to Fire Suppression and 40 hours for employees assigned to other divisions) of accrued vacation leave back to the City annually. The accumulated vacation leave balance will be reduced accordingly. Payment of vacation leave hours will be made the first payday of any month provided that the Finance Department has received ten working days advance notice of the request prior to payday.
Vacation Leave Sell Back. Represented employees may sell back to the City up to twenty (20) work days of accrued vacation each calendar year. Requests submitted by the close of business on the second Friday in December shall be counted toward the cap for that calendar year.

Effective January 1, 2016, employees who have used at least eighty (80) hours of vacation leave in the previous calendar year, may choose to sell back 40 hours of accrued vacation leave in lieu of time off, provided the employee maintains a vacation balance ofat least 40 hours following the payout. To receive compensation in lieu of time off, the employee must submit a completed Request to Sell Vacation form to Payroll by no later than December 31st• Payment shall be included on the January 25th payroll. The District may refuse to pay employees under this provision if notice is not provided by the employee by the required date.

The accumulated vacation leave balance will be reduced accordingly. The cash out may not be made until the hours have been accrued in the Calendar year. Payment of vacation leave hours will be made the first payday of any month provided that the Finance Department has received ten (10) working days advance notice of the request prior to payday. Elections for annual cash out must be made by December 1 of the prior calendar year.
