Vacation Buyout. Each calendar year, employees with vacation leave balances of 100 hours or more may elect during the August or March payroll period to cash out up to 40 hours of accrued vacation. Employees wishing to cash out (up to 40 hours) their vacation time shall note the amount of vacation time on their August or March timesheet.

Vacation Buyout. Employees who are placed on lay-off may request to receive payment for earned but unused vacation benefits. Such payment shall be made within sixty (60) days of the request.
Vacation Buyout. Employees who have been absent from the workplace for a period of six (6) months or more due to an off-duty injury, illness or WorkSafe BC claim, may elect to be paid out for the entire portion of accrued vacation and public holiday time or take a maximum of two four-day tours off prior to starting back to work with the balance remaining being paid out, or in the event the employee is within three years of minimum retirement age, have the entire portion of accrued vacation and public holiday time banked and not be accessible until their final year of employment.

If the employee and the Employer mutually agree, the employee may extend previously earned vacation time and take vacation within six (6) months after said anniversary date provided a written request to extend was submitted, approved and forwarded to payroll prior to the employee’s anniversary date. Only vacation time in excess of the eighty (80) hour usage requirement is eligible to be extended or paid off. The use of any extended vacation time does not factor into any subsequent eighty (80) hour usage requirement. Approved extended vacation time must be utilized first and any extended vacation time not used by the employee within six (6) months of the extension shall be forfeited.
Vacation Buyout. The Parties will agree that Officers will be able to buyout up to forty (40) hours a year of vacation time after successful completion of their probationary period with the Town.

Vacation Buyout. Any member who so indicates at the time vacation is scheduled, may elect to be paid for one (1) or two (2) shifts at their regular rate of pay in the first payroll period of July in lieu of taking such vacation. Such payment will be made on the second payday in July.
