USING THE FRAMEWORK. Option OneDirect award If selecting this route, Institutions may issue a direct award to any supplier on the Framework providing: The Member institution is satisfied with specification, contractual terms and rates set down in the Framework Agreement and no refinement is necessary; The Member institution carries out appropriate due diligence to determine the most economically advantageous supplier to meet the Member’s requirements; Any due diligence carried out must be recorded and requires objective justification of the decision. *Note, this agreement is not ranked and therefore there is no requirement for a Member institution to direct award to the highest scoring supplier on the Framework. The award of a contract will take place after the institution has discussed its specific requirements with the selected supplier and agreement has been reached as to timescales, methodology/approach, specific service requirements and key milestones and performance indicators to be met. The Standard Terms and Conditions of any call-off contract shall be as those stated in the framework agreement and call-off.

Call-offs can be made in the following ways: Institutions can call-off from any supplier that best meets their value for money. Institutions can run further competitions to single-source across the framework. Institutions can increase the given core range to include their own most frequently bought products. SUPPLIERS Alfa Aesar, Xxxxxx Scientific UK Ltd, Scientific Laboratory Supplies Ltd, Sigma-Xxxxxxx Company Ltd, VWR International Ltd, SUSTAINABILITY Some suppliers on this agreement offer the collection and disposal of chemicals for a charge. Details of the waste collection service are included in the Waste Collection Details file, which is on HE Contracts Database. If you choose to run a further competition you may choose to include waste collection as a factor in choosing your supplier. Xxxxxx, Sigma Xxxxxxx, Scientific Laboratory Supplies and VWR can collect empty bottles free of charge and can offer a removal service for redundant or waste chemicals and solvents – this is a separate service and fee will have to be agreed with the supplier. Alfa Aesar will provide on request, reputable information on third parties that can undertake this service.
