Use of Vacation Time. A. Vacation time may not be taken before it is earned but (absent an exception in writing from the Human Resource Services Office, in which case pay for days may at the option of the Human Resource Services Office be substituted instead) must be taken within one (1) fiscal year of the fiscal year in which the time is earned.
