Use of Holiday Time. When holiday time is used, it shall be deducted from the member’s credit on the basis of one (1) hour for every one (1) hour of absence from previously scheduled work. The use and scheduling of holiday time shall be conducted in the same manner as provided in Article 19 for the scheduling of vacation time.

Use of Holiday Time. Holiday time" shall be used during the calendar year in which it was accrued. Requests to use "holiday time" must be submitted to the Chief in writing at least 48 hours prior to time requested off. Holiday time may be taken in half-day increments (four hours, five hours, or six hours, as the case may be). Requests may be granted by the Chief based upon scheduling needs.
Use of Holiday Time. All full time regular employees will receive one day of holiday time for each regular holiday. Holidays for part time employees are pro-rated. All full time employees will receive one day of holiday time for each floating holiday. This time may be used at any time during the calendar year of the holiday. If an employee works on a holiday, they will receive an additional one half day of holiday compensatory time. This time must be used by the end of the calendar year but cannot be used until the day has been worked. Holiday compensatory time for Columbus Day, Election Day, Veterans Day and New Year’s Eve which may be carried into the next year. Time carried into the following year will be added to the holiday bank. Floating holidays will be pro-rated for part time employees. Part time employees will earn one half of the pro-rated holiday time for working on the holiday.
Use of Holiday Time. The proposed use of holiday time shall be scheduled in advance with and is subject to the prior approval of the Fire Chief or his designee. When holiday time is used, it shall be deducted from the member’s credit on the basis of one hour for every one hour of absence from previously scheduled work. In addition, holiday time shall be scheduled in the same manner provided in Article 22, Section 5, for the scheduling of vacation time. Holiday time use may be approved in multiples of four (4) hours.
Use of Holiday Time. 1. If a unit employee has exhausted his/her accrued holiday pay and a holiday occurs, he/she must use accrued leave in order to be paid on that day.

  • Number of Holidays (The following clause is applicable to full-time employees only) There shall be twelve (12) holidays and these holidays are set out in the Local Provisions Appendix. Should the Hospital be required to observe an additional paid holiday as a result of legislation, it is understood that one of the existing holidays recognized by the Hospital shall be established as the legislated holiday after discussion with the Union, so that the Hospital's obligation to provide the number of paid holidays as noted above remains unchanged.

  • Legal Holidays In any case where the date on which any payment is due shall not be a Business Day, then (notwithstanding any other provision of the Notes or this Indenture) payment need not be made on such date, but may be made on the next succeeding Business Day with the same force and effect as if made on the date on which nominally due, and no interest shall accrue for the period from and after any such nominal date.

  • Holiday Falling on Saturday or Sunday For an employee whose normal workweek is from Monday to Friday and when any of the above-noted holidays falls on a Saturday and is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday will be deemed to be the holiday. When a holiday falls on a Sunday and it is not proclaimed as being observed on another day, the following Monday (or Tuesday, where the preceding section already applies), will be deemed to be the holiday for the purpose of this agreement.
