Unused Vacation Credit. 8.7(a) It is the intent of the parties that employees shall be required to use vacation credits as vacation. However, where an employee does not use all or part of their vacation with pay during the year between vacation eligibility dates, the employee shall receive pay in lieu of any remaining unused vacation credits after reaching their next eligibility date.

Unused Vacation Credit. It is the intent of the parties that employees shall be required to use Vacation Credit as vacation. However, where an employee does not use all or part of such Vacation Credit as vacation with pay during the year between vacation eligibility dates, the unused balance of vacation will be rolled over on the employee‘s next eligibility date, unless ten (10) or more working days before the employee‘s eligibility date, the employee requests in writing to be paid for any unused Vacation Credit. Vacation credits so carried over must be used during the next eligibility year. If not used within the following eligibility year, the employee will be paid for the unused Vacation Credit at his next eligibility date. All payments in lieu of vacations shall be made at the employee‘s rate in effect on the employee‘s current vacation eligibility date, including shift differential where applicable.

An 22 exception to the foregoing will be to allow employees to elect carryover 23 of vacation credits in order to meet extended vacation needs, provided 24 the employee makes such election in writing at least ten (10) working 25 days before the employee's next eligibility date. Once an employee 26 elects this exception to carryover vacation, that election will remain in 27 effect unless otherwise requested. Vacation credits so carried over 28 must be used during the next eligibility year and pay in lieu of vacation 29 credits carried over will not be allowed until the end of the eligibility 30 year following the eligibility year in which the carryover election is 31 made. All payments in lieu of vacations shall be made at the 32 employee's rate in effect on the employee's current vacation eligibility 33 date, including shift differential where applicable.

  • Time Off The company recognises that sufficient time off to attend to personal matters and for recreation are important to the employee’s wellbeing, job satisfaction and overall productivity. Accordingly, time off may be taken with the consent of the Company, which shall not be unreasonably withheld. In considering the approval to have time off, the Parties will have regard to the current works programme and the urgency of the reason for time off. In the event that time off is to be taken, it will be the employee’s obligation to advise the Company in advance or as soon as practicable on the day of absence, recognising that unplanned absences can cause costly disruption to programmed works and are a major source of annoyance for the company, other employees and clients. The object of offering flexible working hours is that in return employees will take very seriously their obligation to turn up when they are expected. In view of the disruption caused by unplanned and or notified absenteeism, repeated failure to observe the protocol for time off would constitute misconduct.

  • Paid Time Off The Executive shall be entitled to take paid time off in accordance with the Company’s applicable paid time off policy for executives, as may be in effect from time to time.
