UNUSED SICK LEAVE PAYOUT. A regular part-time or full-time employee with ten (10) years of continuous service will be paid the balance of his/her unused sick leave at a rate of $7.00/hour, up to a maximum of one thousand forty (1040) hours upon separation with the District.

UNUSED SICK LEAVE PAYOUT. Employees with a minimum of five (5) years of continuous service as a regular employee are eligible for a partial payout of earned and unused sick leave upon voluntary termination of employment. In addition to the minimum service requirement, an employee will not be eligible to receive a sick leave payout if the termination of employment is due to: 1) involuntary termination for any reason excluding job elimination or workforce reduction; 2) job abandonment or a voluntarily resignation without notice; 3) resignation while under investigation or to avoid disciplinary action; or 4) resignation by the mutual consent of both parties. Provided that the above basic eligibility criteria have been met, the amount of sick leave to be paid out will be based on the employee’s sick leave utilization rate over the course of his/her employment according the following schedule: Utilization Rate Bank Balance Payout % Greater than 45% 0% 44.9 – 40% 10% 39.9 – 35% 20% Less than 35% 33% Utilization rate is calculated by the number of sick leave hours used, divided by the total hours of sick leave hours earned over the course of the employee’s continuous length of service as a regular employee. An employee’s donation of sick leave to the City’s shared leave pool will not be counted in the utilization rate calculation. The maximum payout of unused sick leave under this section is 544 hours.

  • Unused Sick Leave The accrual of unused sick leave hours is unlimited. The City and the Union commit to the evaluation and establishment of a mutually beneficial non-use of sick leave incentive and pay-out policy. Until such time that a policy is established, accumulated sick leave shall be compensated as follows: Upon retirement from the City service, an employee shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated sick leave, with the rate of payment based upon his regular pay at the time he retires. Upon the death of an employee, his beneficiary shall be paid sixty percent (60%) of his accumulated unused sick leave, with the payment based upon his regular pay at the date of his death.

  • Sick Leave Payout No cash payment for unused sick leave will be paid to any employee leaving the service of the Employer.

  • Compensation for Unused Sick Leave 1. Employees who enter County service after July 1, 1979, shall not be eligible for compensation for any of their unused sick leave credits.

  • Sick Leave Payoff Employee with accrued, unused sick leave may, at the time of separation, select one of the following options for reimbursement:

  • Sick Leave Payment Any employee, at his/her option may choose to receive payment for sick leave earned during the year which is unused at the end of the year. Any such payment must be for the total number of unused sick leave hours earned during the year, must be based on the hourly rate of pay of the employee multiplied by 50 percent, and all hours for which payment is received must be deducted from the employee’s accumulated leave balance. Sick leave used during a current year will be charged against the most recently earned sick leave. Hourly rate of pay is the hourly rate at the end of the contract year.

  • Sick Leave Bonus For every six (6) months of perfect sick leave attendance after July 1, 1987, the employee will receive eight (8) hours of bonus time. This bonus time will be prorated for part-time employees. Such bonus time can be used for any leave purpose covered by this Agreement. Such bonus time shall be counted as vacation leave credits for purposes of determining eligibility for carry- over and cash payments.

  • Accrued 100% sick leave The use of sick leave under this subsection is at the employee's discretion.

  • Sick Leave Pay A Nurse granted sick leave shall be paid for the period of such leave at her or his regular hourly rate of pay and the number of hours thus paid shall be deducted from the accumulated sick leave credits of the Nurse.

  • Sick Leave Benefit There are two types of sick leave benefits. Annual sick leave is the sick leave days credited each year to each employee in accordance with the provisions of the local collective bargaining agreements. Banked sick leave is previously accumulated unused sick leave to which unused annual sick leave may be added at the end of each anniversary year.

  • Sick Leave Usage A. Sick leave may be used for an employee or an employee's child, spouse or parent's illness or injury, hospitalization and appointment pertaining to health.
