Unplanned Overtime. In making unplanned overtime assignments, the Employer shall first request volunteers by classification seniority from employees in the classification at the work location where the overtime is required:

Unplanned Overtime. 1. When management determines overtime needs to be worked, management will first ask the employees on shift if he/she is interested in working the overtime assignment. If that employee does not accept the overtime opportunity, management will contact other employees to volunteer to work the overtime.

On Thursday of each week, a list will be posted which identifies all drivers who have submitted weekly volunteer forms. Drivers will be responsible to notify the Supervisor of Administration (or designee) of errors or omissions prior to noon each Friday.

Unplanned Overtime. Unplanned Overtime is defined as any additional hours outside of the weekly Planned Overtime/Additional Hour’s roster that is posted on a weekly basis in accordance with Article 22.0. In filling unplanned overtime assignments from midnight to 8:00 am, when an employee is required to be called in, the employer shall first define the numbers of hours for the assignment using the Unplanned Overtime / Additional Hours Roster as per Article 22.1 (on a rotating basis), who have identified a willingness to work shifts starting between 4:30 a.m. and 8 a.m. In filling unplanned overtime assignments, the employer shall first define the number of hours for the assignment and request volunteers from the employees at work who are on the Employee Unplanned Overtime/Additional Hours Roster, as per Article 22.1, (on a rotating basis), up to a maximum of sixteen (16) scheduled hours per day inclusive of rest and meal breaks . The overtime assignment will be awarded to the employee who can complete the entire assignment. If no employee on the Unplanned Overtime Roster can complete the entire assignment, the assignment will be awarded to the employee on the Unplanned Overtime / Additional Hours Roster who can complete the majority of hours based on the current roster.
