Unplanned Cessation of Parental Leave. Should it be necessary to alter Parental Leave applied for and commenced, due to miscarriage or the death of a child, the following leave will be made available: Type of Leave Leave available Maternity/Adoption 12 weeks paid leave and up to 14 weeks unpaid Paternity 3 weeks paid leave and up to 14 weeks unpaid Child Rearing 14 weeks leave without pay
Unplanned Cessation of Parental Leave. Parental Leave applied for but not commenced shall be cancelled where, in the case of: • Maternity Leave, the pregnancy of an employee terminates other than by the birth of a living child; or • Adoption Leave, the placement of the child does not proceed; or • Partner Leave, the pregnancy of the employee's spouse terminates other than by the birth of a living child.
Unplanned Cessation of Parental Leave. If parental leave has commenced, or has been approved but not commenced, and: in the case of maternity leave, the pregnancy of the employee terminates other than by the birth of a living child, or the employee’s child dies during the period that the employee is on leave; or in the case of adoption leave, the child dies during the period that the employee is on leave; the employee will be entitled to a combination of paid sick leave and bereavement leave in addition to any entitlement to such leave set out elsewhere in this Agreement to a maximum of 14 weeks from the date or expected date of birth or placement of the child. A medical certificate will be required to support any period of leave pursuant to subclause 5.10(a) above.
Unplanned Cessation of Parental Leave. 62.19 An employee whose pregnancy, having proceeded for a period of not less than twenty weeks, terminates by miscarriage or from the birth of a still-born child, shall be entitled to paid leave of up to 14 weeks provided or a pro rata amount where service is less than 12 months. Where an employee has already commenced such leave she will receive the balance of the period outstanding.

  • LEAVE OF ABSENCE - UNION BUSINESS 11.08.01 Employees who have been elected or appointed to carry out business authorized by the Union on a full-time basis shall be granted a Leave of Absence for this purpose. The Union will advise the Company of the name(s) of such employee(s), the term of such leave, and the specific purpose. The Union shall repay the Company for the Company's costs incurred in Employee Benefit Plans and the employee(s) shall continue to pay their contributions directly to the Company.   • Parental Leave/Adoption Leave An employee will be granted unpaid parental leave for a period up to and including thirty-five (35) weeks, upon request and verification of:

  • Volunteer Firefighting Leave Leave without pay will be granted when an employee who is a volunteer firefighter is called to duty to respond to a fire, natural disaster or medical emergency.

  • Union Leave of Absence An employee on an unpaid Union leave of absence shall have her wages, benefits and seniority continued by the Employer, and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer for the costs of such wages and benefits. Employees requesting leave under this article will provide the Employer with as much advance notice as possible of the dates of the leave. Where there are less than fifteen (15) regular employees at a workstation at the time the leave request is submitted, and subject to operational requirements, unpaid Union leave of absence will be granted to one employee for the purpose of conducting Union business. This would be an additional person on Union leave at worksites where the position of the Union President or Council member has been backfilled for the duration of their term of office. A leave of absence without pay shall be granted to an employee who is a member of the Union and who is:

  • Parental Leave (a) An employee who becomes a parent, and who has been employed for at least thirteen (13) weeks immediately preceding the date of the birth of child or the date the child first came into care or custody of the employee, shall be entitled to parental leave.
