Common use of Unpaid Meal Period Clause in Contracts

Unpaid Meal Period. Employees working a shift of more than five (5) hours shall receive an unpaid meal period of not less than one half (½) hour commencing not earlier than two (2) hours after their shift started and not later than five (5) hours into their shift. Employees called back to work from a meal period shall be considered not to have had any portion of the meal period. They shall be given their applicable meal period later in their shift.
