Union Work. Leaves of absence without pay to take employment with the Union signatory to this MOU shall be granted for a maximum period of twenty-six (26) full biweekly pay periods upon forty-five (45) days advanced written notice from the Union. Employees are entitled to retain any accrued vacation and holiday credits while on such leaves. In the event that employees on approved Union leaves want to continue group benefits coverage (including medical, dental, vision and life insurance) through the County plans, arrangements will be made for the Union to reimburse the County for the costs associated with continuing such coverage. In the event the employee is in a business critical position, a meeting will occur between the Union and the Department Head regarding the feasibility of the release. (i.
Union Work. Persons whose jobs are not in the bargaining unit shall not work on any jobs which are included in the bargaining unit, except for the purposes of instruction, experimenting, or in emergencies when regular employees are not available and provided that the act of performing the aforementioned operations, in itself, does not reduce the hours of work or pay of any employee.
Union Work. Non-bargaining unit employees shall not perform bargaining unit work except in the case of an unforeseen increase in the volume of business, an emergency or under the following terms.
(a) The Housekeeping Supervisor will not displace a bargaining unit member provided there are four (4) or more hours of work available or eight rooms or more to be cleaned.
(b) The Front Desk Supervisor or his/her designate may assist the Guest Service Representative when the volume of business increases and the Guest Service Representative requires assistance.
Union Work. All work shall be done by union members except for work performed by temporary employees and employees exempt under Article V, Section 5.3. It is not the intent of the District to hire student workers or to use volunteers to displace union positions.
Union Work. 1. Members of the Union elected to Union positions or appointed by the Union to perform work which takes them from their employment with the Board shall, at their request, receive a temporary leave of absence up to a period not to exceed on (1) year, and said leave shall be renewable for an additional year for like cause. Employees desiring leaves under this Section shall notify the Superintendent at least sixty (60) days in advance of the date on which such leave is to become effective and shall specify facts giving rise to the request for such leave. No more than one (1) employee shall be off on leave under this Section at any one time. No seniority or longevity shall accumulate during the leave.
2. Leaves of absence without pay for Union business up to one (1) week shall be granted upon receipt of a written notice two (2) weeks prior to the date of the leave requested. No more than one (1) employee shall be off on leave under this Section at one time.
Union Work. The Executive agrees that, at all times prior to February 16, 2008, he shall not personally, or through any representative, intermediary or agent, directly or indirectly provide any advice, assistance or counsel to any union or collective bargaining unit in connection with its representation (or efforts to seek representation) of any group of Employees at Southwest.

Such employees shall receive pay and benefits provided for in this Agreement and the Union shall reimburse the Employer for regular wages for the period of absence. The Union shall reimburse the Employer for the pay and the cost of Employer paid benefits.

The County agrees to respect the jurisdiction of the Union and shall not direct or require their employee or persons other than the employees in the bargaining unit defined herein to perform work which is recognized as the work of the employees in said units, except where such work has been heretofore done by such non-unit employees or unless such work is of an experimental, training, casual nature, or an Act of God or conditions beyond control of the County and/or does not produce the layoff of any employee in the bargaining unit. Bargaining unit members will not normally be expected to perform managerial/supervisory duties, or any non-nursing functions performed by other bargaining units.

The Employer agrees to respect the jurisdictional rules of the Union and shall not direct or require their employees other than the employees in the bargaining unit here involved, to perform work which is recognized as the work of the employees in said units, except as permitted in Section 5.0 of the Contract.
Union Work. Union work shall be conducted in an appropriate non- patient care location and shall not interfere with the work of employees. The transaction of any union work shall be on the employee’s own time, except (1) as provided for in Section 18.1 regarding the Labor Management Committee, or (2) when the Employer or an employee calls for a union delegate to be present during the delegate’s working hours for an investigative or disciplinary meeting and the delegate has obtained approval from his or her supervisor. After any such meeting referred to in (2) above, employees shall be allowed to return to their unit for the remainder of their shift.
