Common use of Union Shop Clause in Contracts

Union Shop. (a) All employees covered by the Union's Certificate of Bargaining Authority shall maintain membership in the Union as a condition of employment. Employees who are brought within the jurisdiction of the Union's Certificate of Bargaining Authority, including newly hired employees, shall become members of the Union by the first day of the third bi-weekly pay period after their initial date of employment in the bargaining unit.
