UNION SECURITY AND DEDUCTION OF DUES. 4.01 All employees covered by this Agreement who are members in good standing of the Union in accordance with its Constitution and By-laws and all employees who become members, shall as a condition of employment maintain their membership in the Union in good standing. The Company shall be free to hire new employees who are not members of the Union and such employees shall make application within ten (10) days after employment and become members within thirty (30) days.

General Motors Corporation 000 X.X. 000 (1963) and Xxxx v. Communication Workers of America, 000 X.X. 000 (1988). Section 2 Delinquency of Dues‌ Before any termination of employment pursuant to this Article becomes effective, the employee involved shall first be given notice in writing by the Union to pay delinquent dues. If the employee fails to pay the delinquent dues, the Union shall notify the Company of the delinquency. Upon receipt of such notice in writing, the Company shall then notify the employee to pay the delinquent dues and if such dues are tendered within one (1) calendar week after receipt of this notification from the Company the employee’s dismissal under this Article shall not be required.
