Common use of Union Rights and Responsibilities Clause in Contracts

Union Rights and Responsibilities. X. Xxxxxxxx to the powers and authority of the Employer under the Constitution of the State of Michigan, the University hereby agrees that all employees of the University who may be appropri- ately included in the bargaining unit represented by the Union shall have the right to freely organize, join, and support the Union for the purpose of engaging in collective bargaining or negotiations and other concerted activities for mutual aids and protection. The Employer agrees it will not directly or indirectly discriminate against any employee with respect to hours, wages, or any terms or conditions of employment by reasons of her/his membership in the Union, her/his participation in any activities of the Union or collective professional negotiations with the University, or her/his institution of any grievance, complaint or proceeding under this Agreement or otherwise with respect to any terms or conditions of employment.
