UNION REPRESENTATION. Authorized representatives The Union shall be permitted one Xxxxxxx and an Alternate. UNION REPRESENTATION. UNION REPRESENTATION. Authorized Employees covered by this agreement will be represented on each shift by two representatives from Seating and one from Skilled Trades. The company will recognize 1 tooling representative provided there are 6 or more people working within the department; and there will be one back up union representative on days who will only act or be utilized in the absence of the Union committee. UNION REPRESENTATION. 301 The Employer acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select not more than seven (7) Stewards, who have successfully completed their probationary period, for the purpose of investigating and handling grievances and attending meetings with management in accordance with the provisions of this Collective Agreement without loss of pay. The Union may also elect or appoint alternates to the designated Stewards on the understanding that such alternates only act in the absence of the designated Xxxxxxx. UNION REPRESENTATION. Authorized representatives The Union shall be permitted one Xxxxxxx and an Alternate. The names of Union Xxxxxxx, Alternate, and Officers shall be submitted in writing to the Recorder. The request in writing for union time shall be returned from Management within a reasonable time. The Employer recognizes that specific union activity on behalf of employees requires time away from assigned Recorder’s duties and will occur during normal working hours to a maximum of five (5) hours per week. These activities include investigating, presenting and adjusting grievances and disputes, representing employees at hearings, and participating in labor management meetings and any other activity authorized by this contract. Union release time will be noted using the Lucas County’s Time Off request application. Requests to attend these training or conferences must be submitted in writing to the Deputy Recorder at least two (2) weeks in advance of the Union time to be taken to attend these training or conferences. Approval is subject to staffing levels and efficient operations of the office as determined at the sole discretion of the Employer. Time granted herein for union sponsored training and conferences shall not be accumulative. Accredited representatives, whether Local Representatives, Council Representatives or International Representatives, shall have full and free access to the permanent commercial manufacturing and pipe fabricating shop premises of the Employer provided that Recorder's office during working hours to conduct Union business after first notifying the Employer is notified of Recorder, or their designee, and after receiving permission to do so. UNION REPRESENTATION. Authorized representatives The Representative of the Union shall will have access to the permanent commercial manufacturing and pipe fabricating shop assembly points or jobs where members of the Union are employed, but in no case shall such visits interfere with the progress of the work or with the departure time of employees. When visiting the job such representative will first advise the job supervisor or his designated representative. UNION REPRESENTATION. Authorized representatives of the Union Council shall have access to the permanent commercial manufacturing and pipe fabricating shop of the Employer provided that the Employer is notified of the visit prior to entering the shop, project for the purpose of adjusting whatever grievance may develop from time to time throughout the life of administering this Agreement, provided that such representatives fully comply with the visitor, safety and security rules established for the Hanford Site. The Stewards shall be paid at their straight-time hourly rates for time spent processing grievances and other related union business during their regularly scheduled working hours. It is agreed that such time shall be limited to a reasonable amount and the Council and the Employer shall jointly investigate any cases where it appears that an individual is taking an unreasonable amount of time. Each Council affiliate shall have the right to designate stewards and the stewards shall be recognized as the union’s representative. Except for “loaned labor,” or as mutually agreed between the Union and the Company, stewards of the Company shall be selected from bargaining unit employees of the Company. Each designated xxxxxxx employed by the Employer shall be a qualified employee and shall perform assigned work. The Employer shall recognize those stewards selected by the Council for specified locations, crafts or classifications. All stewards shall be selected from employees within the bargaining unit who have received proper security clearance for the areas in which they represent employees. The number of stewards, certified at the time of the signing of this agreement, shall be established or changed by mutual agreement between the Council and the Employer. UNION REPRESENTATION. For the purposes of effectively representing all employees in the bargaining unit, the Company agrees to recognize a reasonable number of Union Stewards (not more than one (1) per shift in Injection and Warehouse), a Chief Xxxxxxx and an Assistant Chief Xxxxxxx. The Union will notify the Company of all stewards elected and any changes thereafter. The Company shall provide two (2) copies of a list of new hires and terminations each month to the Union. An employee who is a member shall be appointed as a Xxxxxxx in each permanent commercial manufacturing and fabricating shop of the Employer by the Business Manager or Business Agent of the Union having jurisdiction. In addition to his regular work, the Xxxxxxx shall be permitted to perform during working hours those inspect the time cards, payrolls and equipment used by employees in order to determine that the terms of his union duties which cannot be performed at other times. The Union agrees that such duties shall be performed as expeditiously as possible, and the Employer agrees to allow the Xxxxxxx a reasonable amount of time to perform such duties. The appointed Shop Xxxxxxx will have sole care and control of all the United Association Pipe Fabrication Labels. Those labels not under the control of the Shop Xxxxxxx shall be under the control of the Local Union having Jurisdiction over the fabrication Facility. UNION REPRESENTATION. 301 The Employer acknowledges the right of the Union to appoint or otherwise select not more than seven (7) Stewards, who have successfully completed their probationary period, for the purpose of investigating and handling grievances and attending meetings with management in accordance with the provisions of this Collective Agreement without loss of pay.
