Union-Related Activities. A. On July 1 of each year, the College shall credit the Union’s release time account with one day of release time for each fifteen (15) bargaining unit members. Release time used in accordance with this section shall be charged to this release time account. No release time shall be granted in excess of the Union’s account balance on July 1.

There shall be a maximum of six (6) representatives the Union on the Bargaining Committee. Up to five (5) Bargaining Committee members may be permitted to take two (2) days leave with pay to prepare for negotiationsprovided that the employee makes such request in writing five (5) days prior to the date of leave required. Such days shall be agreed upon between the Union and the Employer. The Union also agrees to reimburse the Employer if a replacement for the employee is employed. Employees shall be allowed time off without loss of pay or benefits, to attend jointly called union-management meetings held during hours.

The parties agree that the advance of any such days requested from the next fiscal year will be made only in a school fiscal year when the C.U.P.E. National Convention is held.
