Common use of Union Leave of Absence Clause in Contracts

Union Leave of Absence. Subject to the provisions of Section 101.1 Company shall at request of Union grant a "leave of absence" without pay to any employee for the purpose of engaging in Union business. Such "leave" shall be for a period or periods not to exceed a total of 72 consecutive months. An employee who has returned to work for Company following an absence on "leave" for Union business in excess of six months shall not be granted another such "leave" until such employee has worked for a period equivalent to the time of the last continuous absence on "leave" for Union business. An employee who has returned to work for the Company following an absence on "leave" for Union business in excess of six months shall not be granted another such "leave" until such employee has they have worked for a period equivalent to the time of the they were last continuous absence continuously absent on "leave" for Union business.
