Uniform Issue. Any concerns with respect to the issue of uniforms will be addressed at the local level by an ad hoc committee composed of no more than three representatives of the employees and three representatives of the Employer. Meetings of the committee shall occur within 10 work days of a request to meet. If matters are not resolved by the local level it shall be addressed by the representatives of the employees at the District level. Employees shall not suffer any loss of basic pay for time spent on such committees.
Uniform Issue. The Employer and the Union agree to amend the Letter of Understanding regarding a uniform point system dated January 8, 2001, as follows: Either party may terminate this Letter of Understanding prior to October in any year for uniform issue in the following year. Article VIII, Clothing, Section 1: Uniform Issue of the current and subsequent collective agreements shall be replaced by this Letter of Understanding as long as it is in effect. Each eligible Fire Department member will select uniform issue on the point system as agreed and modified by the Joint Uniform Committee.
Uniform Issue. Employees will be issued with 3 long sleeve shirts and 3 long trousers on commencement. If an employee leaves during probation a deduction will made for cost of the uniforms unless returned. Uniforms may be replaced on a fair “wear and tear” basis during the year. A further uniform allocation will be made of 2 long sleeve shirts and 2 pairs of long trousers after each year of service. Employees may purchase additional uniforms at any time. Employees must supply their own pair of Australia Standard approved lace up ankle safety boots.
