UNIFORM GUIDELINES. Shirts (including P.E. shirts) are to be tucked in at all times • Oversized clothing is not acceptable, pants/shorts must be worn at the waist, above the hips, “sagging” pants/shorts is not acceptable • Undergarments should not be visible at any time • P.E. uniforms are to be worn on P.E. days only, unless announcements are made • No Hooded Sweatshirts are allowed (8th grade sweatshirts are the exception, but may not be worn on mass days) • All clothing/shoes must be free from holes, not faded or excessively worn • Skirts, shorts, and skorts are to reach the top of knee or lower; P.E. shorts may be approx. 1" above top of knee • Shorts/pants may be worn by girls with a belt (required) on any REGULAR school day during the appropriate months, but NOT on DRESS UNIFORM DAYS (see Dress Uniform for Boys) Shoes The following shoes are NOT acceptable: • Canvas shoes (non-athletic; Vans, Toms, Converse Xxxxx Xxxxxx, etc.) • slip-on shoes or shoes without laces (Velcro straps allowed for students in Pre-K or Kinder only) • platform or high-heeled shoes • shoes with soles that light up and shoes that conceal roller skates • boots Other Shoe Guidelines: • Black, White, or Navy Blue • Shoe laces must always be visible and tied appropriately • Shoes must be free of any writing (made by marker, pen, pencil, etc.) • Shoes must be in good condition; free from tears or holes (on the sole, at the toe, or anywhere on the shoe) Jewelry & Accessories‌ Jewelry and accessories must not distract from learning or attract unnecessary attention. Boys and girls may wear a simple necklace with a religious medal, but it must be worn underneath the shirt. Boys and girls may also wear a simple wristwatch. Girls may wear simple stud earrings and one simple ring. Fashion jewelry is not permitted. Other Jewelry and Accessories Guidelines: • NO colored contact lenses • Additional piercings, plug or spacer earrings are not acceptable • Earrings for boys are unacceptable • NO bracelets/anklets allowed (unless medically required, such as Medical I.D. bracelet) • Purses/handbags are not to be used during the day Cosmetics and Hairstyles • Make-up is unacceptable at school: A student wearing make-up will be sent to the office to remove it immediately • No nail polish or fake nails • No extreme or modern/popular haircuts or hairstyles: boys’ haircuts must be neat and evenly layered; hair should never go over the collar, the ears, or cover the eyes; nor should it be cut shorter than a ‘number 2’ or ...

UNIFORM GUIDELINES. Except as described in Section D below, Public Works employees will be issued standard uniforms which are consistent among divisions and compliant with OSHA guidelines.
UNIFORM GUIDELINES. Student-athletes must keep the uniform number they are assigned at the beginning of the season and at no time may they change their uniform with a teammate without permission of the coach. Student-athletes must wash and care for their uniform after each contest. (Please launder uniform according to directions on tag. Wash all uniforms in COLD water). At no time may a student-athlete alter or change the original shape or form of the uniform. If I fail to return any piece of the uniform assigned to me or if I return the uniform damaged, I understand that I will pay Van Nuys High School the full dollar amount of the uniform, or if required, a cleaning fee. I understand that if I have not returned a uniform(s) or paid what I owe then I forfeit my opportunity to participate in school activities and/or participate with any extracurricular club or athletic team. UNIFORM GUIDELINES. Appropriate uniform items consist of: ● Khaki or navy pants, shorts, skorts, or skirts. Minimum length is no more than 3” above top of the knee. ● Short or long sleeve royal blue, red, or white polo with XXXXX logo. A white, long sleeve shirt can be worn under short sleeve polo. ● Short or long sleeve white or light blue oxford shirt with round XXXXX logo. ● Navy blazer with round XXXXX logo. The blazer may be worn over any XXXXX uniform shirt. ● XXXXX class t-shirts and other official t-shirts with the school logo. ● Red or royal blue polar fleece; red or royal blue cardigan or sweater vest; sweatshirt or hoodie with XXXXX logo. ● Shoes with a closed toe and back that match the uniform. Tennis shoes or casual dress shoes are acceptable. School uniform items must be worn as prescribed. The midriff must be covered and undergarments must not be exposed at any time. Gym shorts, jeans, and leggings are not permitted. Non-XXXXX outerwear is permitted only if the temperature is below 50℉. Hats may not be worn in the buildings. Hair color should be within naturally occurring color tones. Any form of dress or grooming which is distractive or disruptive will not be permitted. DRESS CODE VIOLATIONS It is the school’s expectation that students will read and understand these dress code guidelines. In keeping with that understanding, we expect there will be no violation. In the event that students come to school in violation of any of these guidelines, we will ask the student and parent to make every attempt to correct the violation without loss of class time. Students in violation of the dress code may call parents to bring proper clothing or borrow from our collection of donated uniforms. Uniform checks will be conducted and dress code violations may be issued. First offense will result in a warning, second offense will result in a call home, and a third offense will result in loss of dress-down day. Persistent violations will result in progressive disciplinary action. Final decisions regarding hygiene and appropriate dress will be left to the discretion of the Administrator and/or Administrator’s designee.
