This will not apply in the case of a junior moulders. • Cutting out and punching rivets or plates. • Cutting plates by means of hammer and cold set. • Plate edge planners in structural steel or ship building yards where the operator travels on the machine. • Punching machines handling plates of a mass more than 38kg. • Shearing machines other than guillotine plate shearers, handling plates of a mass of more than 38kg. APPENDIX 3 OF PART A – PROTECTIVE CLOTHING PROTECTIVE CLOTHING (Uniforms) All employees must wear the appropriate protective clothing and footwear issued (or costs reimbursed) by the Company. Employees are responsible for keeping issued uniforms clean and in good condition at their own expense. The issue of protective clothing and footwear by the Company to an Employee is for a minimum twelve (12) month period and any replacement required within the twelve months would be subject to negotiation with and at the discretion of management Safety Boots are required to be worn throughout the site, with the exception of the front office, sales and administration. If a medical condition prevents an employee from wearing safety boots (shoes), the Employee is required to produce a medical certificate as evidence. The Employer will assist the Employee where practicable and subject to duty of care requirements may be able to exempt the Employee from wearing Safety Boots.
