Applications from non- British citizens are only acceptable where the property is for their own use and immediate occupation. Citizens of European Economic Area (the EEA) and Switzerland are treated the same as UK nationals. Non-EEA and non-Swiss nationals are subject to additional considerations; the applicant must be resident and eligible to work in the UK for a minimum of twelve months, require three months’ worth of bank statements, and for applications with a LTV above 75% must have indefinite leave to live / work in the UK.
