UDLC (Universal Digital Loop Carrier). UDLC arrangements consist of a Central Office Terminal and a Remote Terminal located in the outside plant or at a customer premises. The Central Office and the Remote Terminal units perform analog to digital conversions to allow the feeding facility to be digital. UDLC is deployed where the types of services to be provisioned by the systems cannot be integrated such as non-switched services and UNE Loops.
