Trial Service Employee. An employee working in a six (6) to twelve (12) month test period in which they are required to demonstrate their fitness to perform the duties of the position to which they are appointed before becoming a regular employee as provided for by this agreement.
Trial Service Employee. 8 A. An employee serving a one (1) year period to determine their suitability 9 for continued employment. Such trial service period shall begin on the date of 10 appointment from a certified list of eligibles.

A regular employee shall serve one (1) year of trial service to determine their suitability for continued employment, such period to begin on the date of their appointment to a regular position from a certified list of eligibles. During the period of trial service, the employee may be dismissed without recourse to the grievance procedure if in the opinion of the employee's supervisor their continued service would not be in the best interest of the County. The length of an employee’s trial service period may not be extended by a Memorandum of Agreement under the terms of Article 28, Entire Agreement, unless the employee was absent from work for a period of six
