Pruning should only be done adjacent to slash piles where a risk of fire spreading from the slash pile to adjacent live trees exists, or for other safety reasons. If pruning is necessary a variable random approach is required for example: prune the first tree to 4 ft., the next at 8ft, the next at 5ft and the next 10 feet, etc. This will insure a lack of uniformity amongst leave trees.
