Transitional Kindergarten. “Transitional Kindergarten” is the first year of a two-year Kindergarten program. Transitional Kindergarten shall be treated as Kindergarten for all contractual references to Kindergarten, except Article 5.2: Transitional Kindergarten/Kindergarten (Professional Hours). (Ed. Code sections 46300, 48000 and 48010.)
Transitional Kindergarten. Transitional Kindergarten teacher’s preparation time shall be during the regular work day. Preparation time shall not be less than 160 minutes per week. Transitional Kindergarten teachers shall have preparation time that is comparable to K-5 teachers through collaboration and discussion with administration. An exception to this condition will be schedules which have been altered for school activities. (This provision shall be contingent on levy approval for the following year). Preparation time shall be during the regular student instruction day when specialists such as music, P.E., library, etc., are instructing the teacher’s class or other duty-free time. Preparation time shall not be less than 160 minutes per week. In addition, there will be fifteen (15) minutes post-dismissal to be used for preparation and planning. An exception to this condition will be schedules which have been altered for school activities. Another exception to this will be two (2) days per month when necessary all-staff meetings may occur. (This provision shall be contingent on levy approval for the following year and remain for the duration of the current contract). All Full-time equivalent grades 6-8 teachers shall be granted one (1) class period a day for the purpose of preparation and evaluation. An exception to this condition will be schedules which have been altered for school activities. (This provision shall be contingent on levy approval for the following year.) All Full-time equivalent grades 9-12 teachers shall be granted weekly prep equal to the amount of one period a day for the purpose of preparation and evaluation. Additional Certified Coverage Teachers who are asked by the administration to perform administrative duties on an emergency basis for one or more days shall be provided a substitute (if necessary) and be paid $100 per day. Teachers shall not be regularly assigned to cover the absences of other teachers. In situations of bona fide emergencies, teachers may be assigned such duties when time does not permit the securing of a regular substitute or a substitute is not available. Transitional Kindergarten. The hours for a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) Instructional Assistant are dependent on the actual enrollment in the TK classroom. For classrooms with less than 20 students, there will not be a TK Instructional Assistant, for classes with an enrollment from 20 – 23, there will be a .375 FTE TK Instructional Assistant. For TK classrooms of 24 or more, there will be a .75 FTE TK Instructional Assistant. CSEA and the District shall enter into an MOU which is in effect only for that school year. The MOU will state that the CSEA employee will earn sick leave, vacation and other accruals based upon the additional hours. The MOU will further state that the additional hours will cease at the end of the school year, or at another mutually agreed upon date. The MOU will be signed by the District, CSEA and the Employee.
Transitional Kindergarten. Each full-day Transitional Kindergarten classroom is allocated an instructional aide during the entire instructional day.

Transitional Kindergarten. Charter School shall comply with all applicable requirements regarding transitional kindergarten.

Transitional Kindergarten. The transitional kindergarten teacher positions will include time between the first contracted day and the first student day of the transitional kindergarten program to support the transition of previous transitional kindergarten students into their traditional kindergarten classes, as well as to engage in outreach and recruitment efforts of eligible students, which includes coordination with early childhood partners in the community. This time also includes the revision of submitted applications, the screening of eligible applicants, the identification and placement of students in transitional kindergarten classes, communication with students’ families, and planning for variability among the students on their class lists. Other duties, such as sub-coverage or assisting with interventions, will not be assigned during this time period.
